Stumped--by these sights!
One often comes across tree stumps with fungi sprouting
on them. A common sight really, especially after the rains.
But the colourful leaves from a nearby tree made the contrast
here,a striking one. Pictured below, is another side of the
same stump looking less spectacular.
Another stump had this caterpillar. I've always had a thing for
creepy-crawlies and as I clicked away, I thought I'd break out
in a rash...But the feeling passed as soon as I moved away.
Since then I've been able to photograph them without feeling
that the itchiness would start soon!

I love....
- Dew on the bamboo, yellow flowers and orange sunsets, the sound of rain...the whistle of the wind, the rush of flowing water, the smell of woodsmoke, the crackle of a wood fire, the moon in all its phases.......

Hi Kanak~
I just got the creepy- crawlies when I saw the caterpillar pics. We have a caterpillar ( lo moth) that leaves a stinging sensation if you accidentally rub up against it in the garden. I've learned to avoid touching them at all costs, it hurts for a while. The fungus pictures are interesting too, I liked the contrast next to the colorful leaves.
Karrita, I've posted after a long time and it's lovely to read your comment. Thank you so much!
That's scary--the stinging sensation I mean--even if it doesn't last for a long time. I can't help admiring the colours on these creatures, something I wouldn't have done, maybe 10 years ago.
