My sons clicked these pictures as they criss-crossed Shillong
on a cold December day! Some images.

Umiam Lake

Our next-door neighbour, the state of Meghalaya, has
several scenic spots. Umiam Lake pictured below is
one such destination. Also known as Barapani, it was
created when a hydro-electric project was constucted
on the Umiam river. It's an angler's paradise and offers
boating and kayaking facilities. The hills, the shimmer-
ing waters of the lake and the pine make it all look so
beautiful.
